Win Gatchalian has this remark about Vince Dizon
Senator Win Gatchalian quipped that Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon looked older.
Mula nang itinalaga bilang kalihim ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) noong Agosto 31, mas lalo pa umanong pumayat at tumanda si Secretary Vince Dizon.
Dizon started serving as DPWH head several months ago. However, it has been a running joke on social media that even just for a few months, his job has already affected him physically.
During the recent Senate Finance Committee deliberation for the proposed 2026 budget of DPWH, headed by Sen. Win Gatchalian, he took notice of Sec. Vince Dizon‘s physical being, based on the article in Abante.
Gatchalian mentioned that every time he opens the television or watches on the internet, he always sees Dizon. The Senator commended the Secretary for informing the public about the reforms being done by the department he is leading, especially about the corruption issue.
The lawmaker also shared that he was already able to work with Dizon during the pandemic. Dizon was assigned as the testing czar, and he effectively did his job.
With this, Gatchalian said that Dizon would be able to clean up and reform the DPWH.
“It’s a big challenge. Nakita ko parang dati payat ka na, lalo ka pang pumayat ngayon. Dati mukha kang 50 years old, ngayon mukha ka nang 80 years old. Buti makapal pa ang buhok niyo, Secretary,” Sen. Win Gatchalian jokingly said.
Then, the Senator said that hopefully, the reforms would be heard from Dizon amid the investigation into the anomalous flood control projects. Gatchalian also hoped that the same mistake in the department would not happen again.
“Nasabi ko sa mga kasamahan namin dito na we will not allow the same mistake, the same corruption to happen in 2026. And that is our strict rule and mandate come 2026,” the lawmaker said.
