Jericho Rosales talked about his humble beginnings in the entertainment industry
A-list actor Jericho Rosales recalled the big break he received from the longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga.
Jericho is now considered one of the most successful actors of his generation. He has done a lot of hit teleseryes and movies. His popularity also reached Africa because of the iconic drama series Pangako Sa’Yo with actress Kristine Hermosa.
Before rising to fame, Jericho was also a dreamer. He was among the many showbiz personalities who started their careers through competitions on TV.

Jericho Rosales joined Mr. Pogi, the male pageant of Eat Bulaga, when he was just 16 years old. He won the title, and that launched his career in showbiz.
In a recent interview on the Kapuso afternoon talk show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the actor shared that until now, he remembers that moment that opened doors of opportunities for him in the entertainment industry.
He is indeed grateful to the noontime show for where he is now. “Grateful to lahat ng mga taga-Eat Bulaga nu’ng time na ‘yun na nag-coach sa ‘kin, and I would just like to give my 16-year-old self a tap on the shoulder for braving that Mr. Pogi, and I owe everything to that,” the A-list actor said.
When asked how much of the 16-year-old boy back then is still in him right now, Jericho said that the young man at that time is still alive in him. He shared that he just wished to provide a house for his mom and his sibling. He did not imagine that he could still have more.

“That’s the only thing I want, I want to be able to get out of poverty and have a house. And now, I never imagined to be playing these roles, having this kind of life,” he said.
He admitted that there were a lot of ups and downs in his life, but that young boy in him is still grateful and surprised by what is happening.
Jericho also shared that they really had a tough life before he entered showbiz. There were times when they did not know where they could get money for their next meal. They were having problems with their rent, their school expenses, and sometimes, where to sleep.
At a young age, Jericho Rosales learned to make ends meet. Despite the hardships in life, the actor did not let it stop him from reaching his dreams.
