American comedian Conan O’Brien recently expressed his admiration for Filipino comedy legend Michael V. as he celebrated the 30th anniversary of the iconic gag show Bubble Gang. The unexpected tribute delighted Filipino fans and added an international highlight to the long-running show’s milestone celebration.

In a video greeting posted on Instagram on Friday, Oct. 17, O’Brien praised Michael V. and the Bubble Gang team for their impressive three-decade run. The comedy icon behind Late Night with Conan O’Brien described Michael V. as “very talented” and encouraged him to keep the show going strong for many more years.

“Hey, Michael V, Bitoy! I wanted to say congratulations on 30 years of having a show. I don’t care where you live in the world, that’s an amazing record. You’re a very talented person. I wish you the best. Congratulations, let’s make it to 50!” he said.

Michael V. responded with heartfelt appreciation, describing O’Brien’s gesture as the perfect addition to their anniversary festivities. “OMG! This EPIC video greet completes BBL GANG’s 30th Anniversary! Thank you so much Conan O’Brien for this! It’s ABUNDANT! That means ‘a lot!’” he wrote on Instagram, clearly thrilled by the acknowledgment.

O’Brien’s congratulatory message comes during his surprise visit to the Philippines for his travel series, Conan O’Brien Must Go. During his stay, he was spotted interacting with fans in Bonifacio Global City. He even shared a photo of a local artwork depicting him in a barong, which he described as “incredible.”

Premiering on Oct. 20, 1995, Bubble Gang remains the longest-running sketch comedy show in Philippine television history. To commemorate its 30th year, GMA Network launched the “More Tawa, More Saya” campaign, featuring an original song written and arranged by Michael V. along with a celebratory music video.
