Kathryn is indeed one of the most popular stars of her generation in the Philippine entertainment industry. She has done blockbuster films and hit series.
From being a child star, doing young versions of female leads, she became a successful teen star. Her tandem with Supreme Idol Daniel Padilla reached milestones. Their reel and real-life relationship was well-celebrated.
Even though that tandem is no longer active, Kathryn Bernardo, as well as Daniel Padilla, were able to shine separately.
Just recently, the Kapamilya actress accepted her Most Influential Celebrity trophy at the 11th EdukCircle awards. This made her fans and fellow celebrities express their congratulatory messages.
However, this did not sit well with some netizens, based on the article in Inquirer. Kathryn received backlash. Her award itself is being questioned, “most influential.”
It was because they noticed that Kathryn had been silent about the corruption issue in the country, which prompted a lot of celebrities to speak out and criticize the situation and politicians.
“Been a fan of Kathryn for like a decade, and this is the first time I will disagree with the award she received. Influential yet didn’t use her voice for what’s needed. You don’t deserve it, Kath,” a fan wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
