Vico Sotto Reveals What He’ll Do After 2028 — and It’s Not Politics!

Vico Sotto’s Post-Mayoral Plans Will Inspire You

VICO SOTTO – The ever-principled Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto has announced what he wants to do after his term ends in 2028, and it’s not what most people expected.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto has already laid out his vision for what’s next once his term as a public servant concludes in 2028. The young mayor shared that he is open to trying new paths beyond politics, particularly in the education sector. “Ang plano ko, balikan ‘yung mga hindi ko nagawa dahil tumakbo akong mayor. I’d like to teach if I have an opportunity. That’s one thing,” Vico revealed during the latest episode of The Pod Network Entertainment.

While he has yet to determine the exact subject he’d like to teach, Sotto is confident that his years in government have given him meaningful experiences he can impart to future students. The son of showbiz icons Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes reflected on his time in public office, saying, “9 years of experience (as mayor) plus 3 years as a councilor. So, 12 years of experience as a government official plus other experience engaging the government with other hats on.”

“I feel I have a lot of experience to share to younger students,” he added. Before entering politics, Vico had already tried his hand at teaching, having served as a lecturer for one semester at Arellano University prior to his 2019 mayoral run.

Beyond teaching, Sotto expressed interest in pursuing further studies and continuing his advocacy work. He noted that being a local chief executive prevents him from holding other jobs, in accordance with the law. “Kasi kapag mayor ka, unang-una, sa Local Government Code bawal ka magkaroon ng ibang trabaho. So, of course, dapat sumunod tayo du’n,” he explained.

Vico’s outlook showcases his unwavering commitment to growth, learning, and good governance — qualities that have made him one of the most respected young leaders in the country.

Previously, Sotto confirmed that he has no intention of seeking a higher position in the 2028 elections, opting instead to step back from politics and focus on personal development.

As his final term nears its end, the Pasig City mayor appears ready to start a new chapter — one that allows him to share his experiences and continue uplifting others through education and advocacy.
