Alma Concepcion shared a post about Mayor Joy Belmonte
Actress Alma Concepcion called Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte for her “transaction” with contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya.
The Discaya couple was known as government contractors accused of being involved in the anomalous flood control projects. Several politicians were connected to Discayas.

In a recent Facebook post, Alma Concepcion showed that the Discaya couple also had a “transaction” with Mayor Joy Belmonte, based on the article in PEP.
“Meron ka din pala ng transaction sa mga Discayas na 431M? May iba pa ba? Terminated recently? Nung pumutok na yung issue? Bakit di mo dinisclose from the start? Akala ko ba good governance?” the actress asked.
However, the project that Alma showed on her Facebook page has nothing to do with the anomalies in flood control projects. The Discayas own the St. Gerrard Construction, the company accused of being involved in the anomaly in flood control projects, especially in Bulacan.
The project that Alma cited was the “PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF SIX SIX-STOREY WITH DECK MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING” in Brgy. Central in District 4, Quezon City. This project was worth PHP431,071,670.99.
Meanwhile, Alma Concepcion defended Arjo Atayde and his mother, Sylvia Sanchez, against corruption accusations. During the Senate hearing, the Discaya mentioned that Arjo received kickbacks from flood control projects.
Because of this, he and his mother were bashed and accused of spending the government’s money on their luxurious lifestyle. Alma stressed in her previous post that the Atayde family already had their multi-million peso properties even before Arjo became a politician.
