RUFA MAE QUINTO – Comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto is turning her pain into purpose as she joins Your Face Sounds Familiar, revealing that the show became her way of healing after losing her husband, Trevor Magallanes.

Rufa Mae Quinto has opened up about how joining the latest season of Your Face Sounds Familiar has become a source of healing for her following the loss of her husband, Trevor Magallanes.

The actress shared that participating in the show has helped her and her daughter cope with their grief. “Dumaan na ko sa problema at drama. Kaya sabi ko, gusto ko naman may gawin na maganda [at para] malibang. Kailangan ko ‘yun kasi naglu-luksa kaming mag-ina. Rufa Mae Quinto revealed that the opportunity to join Your Face Sounds Familiar came at the perfect time in her life. “I really wanted to audition for this,” she said.

After nearly a decade of stepping away from showbiz to focus on her family, Rufa Mae shared that she is now ready to return to the spotlight. “I haven’t been full blast in showbiz for a long time — almost 10 years — because I was focused on my family. But now that my daughter is eight and a little more independent, I told myself maybe it’s time I go full-time with my career again,” she added.

The newest season of Your Face Sounds Familiar premiered on October 4, marking the return of three of the country’s top music icons — Sharon Cuneta, Gary Valenciano, and Ogie Alcasid — as the show’s panel of judges.

This season features eight talented performers: BGYO’s Akira Morishita, Alexa Ilacad, Dia Mate, Jarlo Base, Jason Dy, JM Dela Cerna, Marielle Montellano, Pepe Herrera, and Rufa Mae Quinto herself.

Adding to the excitement are the show’s online hosts AC Soriano, Krystal Brimner, and Vivoree Esclito, who bring more fun and engagement to fans tuning in online.

For Rufa Mae, the experience is more than just a comeback — it’s a step toward rediscovering joy, resilience, and purpose after loss.
