Ate Gay’s Inspiring Battle: Comedian Shares Positive Progress in Cancer Journey
ATE GAY – After weeks of worry and prayers, Ate Gay finally shared a ray of hope in her cancer battle, announcing that her neck lump has begun to shrink.
Comedian Gil Aducal Morales, better known as Ate Gay, recently shared an encouraging update on her fight against stage 4 cancer. On October 2 (Thursday), the comedian took to Facebook to express her happiness and gratitude after observing a significant improvement in her health. Ate Gay revealed that the lump on her neck had noticeably reduced in size just a few days after starting her treatment.
“Ambilis ng pagliit ng bukol in 3days… 10cm naging 8.5 … maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat na nanalangin ng aking anggarang paggaling.. patuloy lang po…. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏,” she wrote.

Ate Gay’s post immediately drew supportive comments and prayers from fans and fellow comedians, who expressed their joy over the positive news.
She first opened up about her diagnosis during an emotional interview with Jessica Soho in September. She shared that she initially dismissed the swelling on her face as mumps, not realizing it would later grow and become more concerning.
“Parang beke lang siya noon. Hindi pantay ang mukha ko. Sabi ng mga kasama ko sa work, ‘Hindi pantay ang mukha mo, pa-check mo ‘yan.’ Nagpa-ultra sound ako at nagpa-CT scan. After CT scan, magpa-biopsy daw ako,” she recounted.
She went on to add, “Ang findings nu’ng una, benign. Nagpa-second opinion ako. May show ako sa Canada, medyo lumalaki na siya. At saka nagbi-bleed nang nagbi-bleed.”
Subsequent medical examinations confirmed that Ate Gay had stage 4 cancer, a diagnosis that left her and her fans devastated.

In a later interview with Ogie Diaz, Ate Gay revealed that her spirits were lifted when a generous benefactor offered to pay for her medical treatments.
“May isang anghel na tumulong sa akin na libre ako doon sa napakamahal na hospital, napakagandang hospital, magagaling na mga doctor,” she said with gratitude. She continued, “Natutuwa ako kasi may pag-asa na ako kasi nagbunga ‘yung mga dasal… Nilibre po ako sa chemo, sa radiation para mabuhay po ako.”
She later shared that the benefactor was associated with Gabay Guro, a group she had previously worked with. Ate Gay expressed heartfelt thanks to her friends, supporters, and fellow comedians—especially Allan K—for their continuous prayers and encouragement as she courageously continues her road to recovery.
