Regine Velasquez On Corrupt Officials: “Hindi sila marunong mahiya”

Regine Velasquez lamented the corruption in the country

Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez shared this post criticizing the corrupt officials in the Philippines.

Regine was just one of the many celebrities who aired their sentiments regarding the current corruption in the country. The anomalous flood control projects created a loud buzz. This involved political names in the government and people working in the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Last September 21, amid the issue, many Filipinos went out to the streets to join the anti-corruption rally. This was joined by many celebrities.

Even though Regine Velasquez did not join the rally, she is one of many Filipinos who aim for a better Philippines. Through her series of tweets or posts on X, formerly Twitter, she expressed her thoughts on the corruption issue.

She asked if someone had been indicted already. The singer also said that amid the issue, Filipinos continue to pay taxes from their hard-earned money. “Baka isang araw magising tayo na ultimo hangin may tax na,” she said.

Then, she said that all the money that was stolen should be donated to the earthquake victims in Cebu.

In her Instagram post, Regine also shared an AI video of what could happen if there is no corruption. She said that this is possible if the country’s money is not being stolen by corrupt officials.

The thing is hindi sila marunong mahiya kahit sabihan silang magnanakaw makapal ang mukha at isinusuka na natin sila waley pa rin, mag tuturo lang sila ng iba pang magnanakaw hangang maubos na lang nila yung ninakaw nila tapos nakaw uli,” she stressed.

Then, she asked what could be done to end this, with the emphasis that there was still no one who was held accountable. For Regine, even though leaders will be replaced, the situation will still remain.

The singer has a wish now that she is getting older. She hoped that she would still have time to witness a better Philippines.

“I’m 55 konting panahon na lang ang ilalagi namin sa mundo sana manlang maabutan namin ang isang maluwaltahing pamumuhay para sa mga Pilipino,Regine Velasquez said.
