In a recent interview based on the article in ABS-CBN, Gladys Reyes was asked about the secret behind her longevity in showbiz. She had a simple, or a cliché answer to this.

“Because I love what I do. For me, hindi lang siya yung profession na pinagkakakitaan–– this is my passion,” Gladys shared.

Growing up, the actress said that she already knew what she wanted. She knew she was destined to become an actress. For her, she was not like other children.

When she was just in kindergarten, she already knew that she wanted ot act. She loved role-playing. Instead of playing with other kids like the traditional game of “patintero” and “taguan,” Gladys loved recording herself doing different voices.

The actress also highlighted that it is important to feel that excitement, because this made her go. There was excitement in her when she portrayed new roles and anticipated what the viewers would feel.

She also shared that even though she is known for her villain roles, she is still the one deciding whether she’ll accept the role or not.

“I guess importante yung nadoon lagi yung fire, lagi nadoon yung excitement mo in every role na pinoportray. Hangga’t maari, talagang pinipilit ko na dapat makatotohanan yung lumalabas. Kapag pinanood nila, yung hindi sila mabibigo na yung pinortray ko, maniniwala sila,” the actress said.

Gladys Reyes said that her passion for acting has not stopped. She shared that it felt like she was always fueled, and her flame kept on igniting.
