Kitty Duterte Shares Heartfelt Wish to Have Her Own ‘Little Rodrigo’ Amid ICC Detention of Father
KITTY DUTERTE – Former President Rodrigo Duterte’s daughter, Kitty Duterte, poured her heart out on social media, expressing her dream of having her own “Little Rodrigo” while paying tribute to her father.
Kitty Duterte recently opened up about her personal dreams and the deep bond she shares with her father. In a heartfelt post on Instagram, she shared a throwback photo with the former leader, who is currently detained at the International Criminal Court (ICC) facility in The Hague, Netherlands.
Kitty recalled one of their meaningful conversations that took place two years ago, when she asked her father if she could marry right after finishing college. “Love magnifies purpose and defies consequence,” she wrote in her post.
She added, “I remember our conversation from 2 years ago, naive and idealistic—when I asked your permission if I could settle down right after college.”
Expressing her biggest dream, Kitty revealed her wish to someday have her own version of her father. “It has always been my biggest dream to birth my own little rodrigo and as much as (I know) you loathed the idea of it, especially at that time, you respected me and told me you would support anything that gave me eternal love and joy.”
She also shared how, just a couple of months ago, she asked her father what he wanted to see first—her fulfilling her promise or starting the family she had always prayed for. “I told you I’d do whatever made you happier and that is how I know I love you, as you love me. These are the kinds of things we hold on to, in this life— commitment and sacrifice,” she said.
Despite the challenges and her father’s current situation, Kitty expressed nothing but pride. “Proud as I am to be your baby, I am even prouder to say I grew up caring for you and protecting you. I would do it all over again, even fiercer if i could.”
Through her words, Kitty not only showed her unwavering love for her father but also her hope for the future—one that includes family, resilience, and the legacy of a “Little Rodrigo.”
