GMA defended Heart Evangelista

Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista was allegedly dropped by brands she’s endorsing amid the corruption accusation against her husband, Senator Chiz Escudero.

Sen. Chiz was mentioned during the recent Senate inquiry on anomalous flood control projects as one of the politicians who allegedly received kickbacks. Former Department of Public Works and Highways Undersecretary Roberto Beranrdo accused the lawmaker of receiving P800 million from the flood control projects.

Following the accusation against him, Sen. Chiz released a statement debunking Bernardo’s statement. The lawmaker said Senators have been dragged into the issue, but the alleged people involved in this weren’t mentioned.

He also said that he will take legal action regarding the accusation against him, while stressing his integrity because he has never been accused of corruption in the past 27 years of his political career.

Amid the issue, more bashing was directed at Heart Evangelista. Even before this accusation against Sen. Chiz surfaced, the Kapuso actress had been receiving comments about being a “nepo wife,” and netizens questioned her lavish lifestyle.

One of the recent issues about Heart was the speculation that two of the brands she’s endorsing dropped her. Bilyonaryo’s site reported that “FitFlop, Tiger Balm quietly drop Heart Evangelista amid Chiz Escudero probe.”

Sparkle GMA Artist Center, the Kapuso management company that is handling Heart, debunked this accusation against her. “FAKE NEWS ALERT! THIS IS NOT TRUE!” the network stated. GMA also reminded people to be cautious of what they read online.

In the comment section of this post, many netizens showed support for Heart Evangelista, especially her fans who have been supporting her for many years already. Some fans asked GMA why it took them so long to release a statement about the Queen of Creative Collaborations when she was already attacked on social media.
