“Good, Honest Leader”: Jimmy Bondoc Backs VP Sara as Nation’s Hope for Progress

Jimmy Bondoc Calls VP Sara Duterte the Key to a Stronger, Prosperous Nation

JIMMY BONDOC – With unwavering conviction, Jimmy Bondoc expressed that VP Sara Duterte has what it takes to bring growth and stability to the Philippines if she assumes the presidency.

Singer and lawyer Jimmy Bondoc, a staunch ally of former President Rodrigo Duterte, voiced his confidence that the Philippines would flourish should Vice President Sara Duterte eventually ascend to the presidency.

Through a Facebook post, Bondoc praised her integrity and capability as a leader. “This, I assure you, my dear friends from the other side: Sara Du30 is a good, honest leader. Do not believe the bad forecasts in case she legally takes over. JUST IN CASE that happens, the whole country will prosper. Even you. God bless us all,” he stated.

His remarks ignited discussions online, with supporters welcoming his optimism and detractors questioning Duterte’s track record. Under the Constitution, the Vice President may only assume the presidency in cases where the President dies, is permanently unable to serve, resigns, or is removed from office following impeachment and conviction.

Controversies, however, have trailed Duterte, particularly concerning the handling of confidential funds. Reports flagged questionable disbursements amounting to ₱613 million under both the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education. The issue gained further attention when the Commission on Audit discovered that many of the listed beneficiaries had no verified records with the Philippine Statistics Authority. One striking example was the entry “Mary Grace Piattos,” a name seemingly derived from a mix of a local restaurant brand and a well-known snack.

In spite of these issues, Duterte maintains significant support from her father’s political base and loyal followers. Bondoc’s public endorsement further strengthens her position among Duterte allies, many of whom see her as a possible successor to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Critics continue to push for transparency and accountability. Still, her backers believe that her governance style, combined with the Duterte family’s enduring influence, could bring stability and progress should she assume the top office. Bondoc’s statement highlights the ongoing political divide in the Philippines, where loyalty and criticism collide over the Duterte family’s role in the nation’s political landscape.
