Rodante Marcoleta had these striking words for Jinggoy Estrada
Senator Rodante Marcoleta said that his fellow lawmaker Jinggoy Estrada is really safe now.
This statement from Marcoleta came from the corruption issue regarding the flood control projects in the Philippines. A Senate hearing was started to address the issue.
When Estrada asked businessman Curlee Estrada, with his wife Sarah Discaya, if there was a Senator who was involved in anomalous projects, after mentioning congressmen, the answer was “wala po.”
With that, Marcoleta joked that Estrada was “safe.” However, that statement from Discaya was contradicted by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bulacan 1st District Assistant Engineer Brice Hernandez, who claimed that Estrada, along with his fellow Senator Joel Villanueva, received kickbacks.
Both Senators denied their involvement in the issue. They even said that they were willing to open their bank accounts to prove their innocence.
During the Senate hearing on Thursday, September 18, based on the report from GMA News Online, Mina Elamparo-Jose of WJ Construction clarified that Sen. Jinggoy Estrada has nothing to do with their transaction with the former DPWH Bulacan 1st District Assistant Engineer. With this, Sen. Rodante Marcoleta said, “SO TALAGANG SAFE KA NA.”
Meanwhile, amid the corruption issue, Sen. Jinggoy was accused of being a “bakla” and “sinungaling” by former actor Robby Tarroza. The latter had an intriguing post about the senator amid the corruption issue. Robby said that the lawmaker should stop lying because he can release proof.
