Third time’s a charm for beauty queen Ahtisa Manalo. Her Miss Universe Philippines 2025 crown is long overdue, and even though it took her three tries to get it, it was worth the wait.
She showed the most confident and elated version of herself, but at the same time more calm and more eager.
This year, the 74th Miss Universe will be held in Thailand K. Nawat Isaragraisil has been granted the esteemed honor of hosting the much-anticipated pageant. This is the fourth time the “Land of Smiles” will host the event. the previous ones were in the years 1992, 2005, and 2018.
In 1992, Michelle McLean of Namibia won the crown, followed by Canada’s Natalie Glebova in 2005. The most recent edition hosted in 2018 saw the Philippines’ Catriona Gray emerge victorious, earning her country its fourth Miss Universe title.
Recently, Manalo shared about her preparations for the upcoming Miss Universe pageant which will be in November. According to her, her prepapration is to become her best self when she gets there.
They focus on factors that they can control like her pasarela, hair and makeup, her workout, what she eat, and her communication skills. She makes sure to do everything to maintain her health. As a sickly person, she wants to be healthy for the competition.
She also takes communication classes, and added, “We try to anticipate whatever question they might ask, but you know, we can only practice so much and we can only do so much but we are practicing for that.”
When it comes to preparation, finding balance is accordingly what matters most. She pointed out, “I think there is a perfect balance to both xthat you are taking things seriouly but you are doing it light-heartedly.”
Meanwhile, reigning Miss Universe 2024 Victoria Kjær Theilvig is from Denmark. Spain, Costa Rica, Nigeria, the Dominican Republic, South Africa, and the Philippines were among the countries being considered to house the competition this year but Thailand was chosen.
