Alma Concepcion shared this post about Arjo Atayde and Sylvia Sanchez
Actress Alma Concepcion defended actor-politician Arjo Atayde and veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez against the recent bashing connected to the alleged flood control project anomaly.
Arjo was mentioned by Sarah and Curlee Discaya as one of the congressmen who received kickbacks from flood control projects. The actor-politician immediately debunked the allegation against him.
He stressed that he never dealt with Discayas. However, photos of him with the couple circulated online. Arjo reasoned out that it was just a mere picture-taking incident, and that it was the first and the last encounter he had with the couple.

Netizens have been talking about Arjo Atayde’s political career. It was noticed that his post about a project, with Wawao Builders, owned by Mark Allan Arevalo, was being linked to the anomalous flood control project in Bulacan, was already deleted.
Netizens also noticed that Arjo’s house tour vlog on veteran broadcaster Julius Babao’s YouTube channel is no longer available. Internet users have been expressing negative reactions to Arjo, as well as his family. Netizens also recalled the properties that the Atayde family has publicly showcased.

Amid the bashing and criticism, Arjo and Sylvia were defended by their fellow showbiz personality Alma Concepcion. In a Facebook post, Alma reposted what she shared back in 2021.
In her repost, Alma pointed out that the properties that the Atayde family had were already there in 2021, and that Arjo just became a congressman in 2022.
“MALINAW po ang mga petsa. Ang mga ari-arian tulad ng rest houses, yate na binabanggit sa balita ay nakita na namin noong 2021. Si Congressman Arjo Atayde ay nahalal noong 2022. Paki-check po ang timeline kung kailan na-acquire ang mga ito bago maghusga,” she wrote.
Netizens have various reactions to how Alma Concepcion defended Arjo Atayde and Sylvia Sanchez. Some rallied behind her and showed support for the Ataydes, however, some netizens also slammed Alma, as they believed that something wrong was committed.
