Veteran actress and Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz recently sat down for a candid interview with Boy Abunda on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. The conversation touched on her colorful life, her journey as a beauty queen, her experiences in show business, and even her views on love and family.
One of the most interesting moments came when Boy Abunda, known as the “King of Talk,” asked Gloria who she considers the most beautiful actresses in the industry.
The exchange began with a nostalgic discussion about her winning moment at the Miss Universe pageant in 1969. Boy asked, “Did you have an inkling that you were going to win?” Gloria answered with honesty and wit: “No definitely not. But, I didn’t think I was gonna lose. I mean, parang, you don’t go into a contest and say, ‘hay nako, matatalo ako.’ Hindi naman gano’n ang attitude noon e. ‘Okay, enjoy. I’m sure I’m gonna be okay.’ Hindi ba gano’n yon.”
Gloria then reflected on how show business has been kind to her, admitting that she feels “very blessed” for everything she has achieved.
When it came to naming the most beautiful actresses in her eyes, Gloria’s first choice was close to her heart—her daughter, Isabelle Daza. “Of course, my daughter. She’s perfect, right? Isabelle. Kasali na ‘yan,” she said proudly.
She then praised Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, calling her one of the most stunning faces in the industry. “She’s one of the most beautiful. Perfect ang mukha,” Gloria said, describing the actress’s flawless features.
Gloria also mentioned her Beauty Empire co-star Kyline Alcantara as another standout beauty. “I think Kyline. When she matures a little bit more. She’s beautiful,” she remarked, showing her admiration for the young actress’ potential.
