Boy Abunda Consults Lawyers Before Airing Liza Soberano’s Unreleased Footage
BOY ABUNDA – A 12-minute footage of Liza Soberano from 2023, once kept under wraps, has now been aired by Boy Abunda after careful consideration.
Boy Abunda has finally released the long-kept 12-minute interview with Liza Soberano from 2023, which had been withheld for over a year.
In his self-titled show on GMA Network, the “King of Talk” revisited the conversation with Liza and explained the reason behind the delay in airing the footage. Abunda revealed that he and his team were already aware of her breakup with Enrique Gil, widely known as LizQuen.

“Liza and I were in touch a few times, and also with Quen’s representation,” he said, noting that the separation did not come as a surprise to them.
The release of the interview came shortly after filmmaker Sarah Bahbah launched her YouTube feature Can You Come In?, which starred Liza and has already gained millions of views. In that project, Liza openly shared her struggles growing up and confirmed her split with Enrique.
Abunda recalled bringing up Enrique during their past interview. “Habang pinapanood ng publiko ang mga pagbabago sa kanyang career at buhay, isang tanong ang naiwan sa ere: Nasaan si Enrique Gil? And that’s precisely why I asked her that question during my interview, at ang sagot po ni Liza, I quote, ‘We broke up’ end of quote,” he told viewers.
However, at that time, Liza personally requested that the segment not be shown. “Gabi ng March 7, 2023 naganap ang interview. After that, nag-request po si Liza na wag naming ipalabas ang bahaging yun ng interview dahil hindi pa ready si Quen na malaman ng publiko na hiwalay na sila. Liza and I were in touch a few times, and also with Quen’s representation, iginalang namin ang request nila na hindi ipalabas ang interview kahit umiikot na noon ang mga speculations na hiwalay na sila,” Abunda explained.

Following Liza’s recent public confirmation, Boy Abunda felt it was finally appropriate to air the unreleased clip. “Because of that recent revelation, naniniwala kami na napapanahon na para mapanood ninyo ang 12-minute portion ng aking interview with Liza tungkol sa breakup nila ni Quen. Kinonsulta namin ang aming mga lawyers, Attorney Vinney Ibarra ng GMA Network, and my personal lawyer, Attorney Wendell Dimaculangan and they gave us the go signal to air the 12-minute footage,” he disclosed.
