No “love is lovelier the second time around” for Ruffa Gutierrez and Yilmaz Bektas
Actress Ruffa Gutierrez clarified that she and her ex-husband, Yilmaz Bektas, did not get back together.
Ruffa and Yilmaz’s relationship and breakup were well-publicized because of their celebrity status. Years after that controversial separation, the former couple became okay.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, Ruffa said that she and Yilmaz are now “in a good place.” They are enjoying their co-parenting set-up.
Ruffa Gutierrez said that in every painful breakup, disagreements and bitterness were there at the beginning, and then, time heals all wounds.
“Whatever we felt at the time will come to pass. We will slowly learn how to forget it eventually. With prayer, God just heals all the wounds. Now, we’re in a good place,” the actress said.
Although they have been okay now, she stressed that there was no “love is lovelier the second time around” for her and Yilmaz Bektas.
“We didn’t get back together. I know there are many Ruffa-Yilmaz fans out there. We didn’t get back together as lovers, but we brought back our good relationship,” The actress stressed.
On the other hand, Ruffa said that she will always acknowledge the fact that Yilmaz is the father of her daughters, and she has allowed Lorin and Venice to spend time with their father.
Ruffa also said that she has forgiven Yilmaz for a long time already. She believes that it is important that her daughters have a good relationship with their father.
When asked to describe the current status of her relationship with Yilmaz, the actress said they are “phone pals.” She also shared that they haven’t seen each other for a long time.
“I can say that we’re friends who don’t see each other because I haven’t seen him since 2007 or 2008. Instead of saying we’re friends, we’re textmates, phone pals, we don’t hang out or see each other in person. Time will tell if it happens,” the actress said.
Meanwhile, in March, Ruffa Gutierrez revealed that Yilmaz Bektas wanted to marry her again. Ruffa’s mother, Annabelle Rama, even said that the former couple still loves each other.
