Maricel Laxa Shares Her Children Encouraged Her To Accept ‘It’s Okay To Not Be Okay’ Role

Seasoned actress Maricel Laxa shared that it was her children who encouraged her to accept the role in It’s Okay To Not Be Okay.

Maricel has been in the industry for many years. In recent years, Maricel has done various acting projects. However, she is now part of the Kapamilya series, which was based on the Korean series with the same title.

The seasoned actor played the character of Olivia, who is a nurse at OK Hospital. In the series, her character often has a clash with her fellow nurse Eden, who is portrayed by singer-actress Agot Isidro, based on an article in ABS-CBN.

Actually, hindi ko pa siya napanood noon pero nung kwinento ko sa mga anak ko, sabi nila, ‘Mom you can’t miss that you really have to do it.’ Malaking factor kasi pag sinabi nilang please go ahead and do it––gagawin ko. Masunurin akong ina,” Maricel Laxa said.

When she was asked if her children had watched the series, she shared that they are waiting for more episodes for them to binge-watch.

They intend to watch this together. However, Maricel admitted that she was nervous because she was worried about whether she did well in portraying her career.

On the other hand, her children, Donny, Hannah, Ella, Benj, and Solana, assured their support for her. “Kung ano man ano sabihin nila, it’s okay kasi sinunod ko naman yung sinabi nila… They’re so supportive and they’re so proud of what we’ve done,” the actress said.

Talking about the theme of the series, which is focused on mental health, Maricel Laxa said that she is happy that this is already being talked about. She stressed that it is a good thing that people now accept that it is okay to not be okay, and there is healing after that.

Meanwhile, Maricel and Anthony Pangilinan’s son, Donny Pangilinan, has established his name in the entertainment industry as one of the most in-demand actors of his generation.
