Her aspiration to become a teacher traces back to her childhood, and it finally came to fruition after relocating to Vancouver with her husband, actor Marco Alcaraz, and their three sons in early 2025. According to Lara, the decision to move was deeply rooted in their desire to strengthen their faith and family bonds, a step that ultimately led her to this new career path.

During an interview with OMNI Television, Lara opened up about how she learned of the teaching opportunities available in Canada. “I didn’t know that teachers were in demand,” she admitted. “When we decided what course to take, I just said I really want to be a preschool teacher, I want to be an Early Childhood Educator, so I just pursued my dream.”

Currently, Lara is handling four preschool classes and is also involved in out-of-school care, supporting children across various age groups and developmental stages. “There are times when the children have different skills, and everything happens at once,” she explained. “Sometimes I want to help them, but I don’t know how, especially with children who are non-verbal and can’t express what they’re feeling.”
