Sen. Ping Lacson has this warning about scammers
Senator Ping Lacson informed the public about a scammer who was asking for financial support for the supposed victims of the recent typhoon.
Sen. Ping was given a chance to return to the Senate. He was one of the 12 elected senators after the 2025 midterm elections.
The prominent political figure took a break from public service after his election loss in 2022. He ran for president with his running mate, Sen. Tito Sotto.

In a recent social media post, Sen. Ping Lacson warned the people not to be gullible regarding messages they would receive from unknown people who asked for money.
The victims of the recent typhoon are being used in this scam. In the post, the Senator said that he had already identified the scammer who used the name and photo of former Rep. Josephine Sato.
The scammer claimed that the donation would be used to rebuild the supposed “orphanage building” in Occidental Mindoro province that was allegedly damaged by a typhoon.
“This person, misrepresenting himself as ex-Cong Nene Sato, contacted the wrong guy when he asked me for financial support to rebuild a ‘typhoon-damaged’ orphanage building in Occidental Mindoro. I have his real identity, even his photo on his SSS ID. GOTCHA, IDI@T!” the lawmaker wrote.

Sen. Ping exposed the cellular phone number of the person pretending to be the former congresswoman for the supposed “Gcash Donation Drive.”
In a write-up on his official website, it was said that the Senator has started working with authorities to catch the said scammer.
Sen. Ping Lacson warned the public to be careful in dealing with scammers, especially since some areas are still recovering from the damage brought by the typhoon.
Previously, regarding social media, the Senator said that he submitted a proposal banning minors from using online platforms.
