MC Muah and Lassy battled against their silent addiction
Comedians and TV hosts MC Muah and Lassy revealed how they overcame their gambling addiction.
MC and Lassy have been friends for more than two decades now. They first met when they were starting as performers in comedy bars. Throughout the years, they have already gone through a lot together, including their shared addiction.
With the grief they went through in losing their loved ones, there was a point in their lives when they were hooked on gambling.

In a recent interview on Toni Talks, the YouTube talk show of Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga, MC Muah and Lassy shared what they went through because of gambling.
MC was the first who be hooked on this. He was experiencing sleeplessness at that time, and a friend suggested that he should try playing at a casino. MC did that before he knew it; he was already deep into it, as he wanted to take back what he lost the other day.
Eventually, Lassy was also hooked into this. MC tried to stop Lassy because he knew that it was addictive. However, with Lassy’s “beginner’s luck,” he also went on.
They shared that before they knew it, their savings were gone. When asked how much they spent on gambling, MC said that it was more than P10 million.
It also came to the point that they no longer sleep. From the comedy bar, they would go straight to the casino, and they would stop until the morning or afternoon if they had scheduled tapings or shootings. Sometimes, they would just have 30 minutes of sleep. This became their routine for a long time.
MC said that they were sharing this with the public, not because they were proud, but because they wanted to share a lesson with people who are in this situation to get out, because they will never win.

“Makikita mo yung bank account mo, ang laki ng naipon namin ni Lassy kasi, parang, ano’ng nangyari, P2000 na lang naging pera mo sa bangko,” MC shared.
Fortunately, they were able to surpass that phase in their lives. Lassy shared that seeing his fellow comedy bar performer being able to buy a new house, he said that he also wanted to save money. He realized that he was getting old, and he wanted to have a stable life.
Lassy also shared that he was able to resist coming back to that addiction because he knew that he would never truly win. He also suffered financially to the point that he pawned his jewelry, and he was just able to pay the interest.
In MC Muah’s case, he realized that he was getting old already in comedy bars, and their names were already on the top of the signage, but in reality, at that time, they had no savings.
