Love, Divorce, & Second Chances: ‘Betty La Fea’ Season 2 Premieres Soon
BETTY LA FEA – Beloved telenovela ‘Betty La Fea’ reopens the doors of Ecomoda as it delves into life, love, and second chances two decades later.
The iconic Colombian telenovela Betty La Fea is set to return with its long-awaited second season, over two decades after it first won the hearts of audiences around the world. Titled “Betty la Fea: La Historia Continua,” the sequel revisits the lives of its beloved characters, with a special focus on Betty and Armando, once viewed as the picture-perfect couple.
Betty and Armando, who were once considered the perfect fairytale pair, now find themselves at a pivotal moment, navigating both their separation and the chance to reconnect as their relationship is revisited in the second season of “Betty La Fea.”
The 1999 original series became a cultural sensation, inspiring numerous international adaptations. In the Philippines, it gained widespread popularity through its Tagalog-dubbed version and a local remake starring Bea Alonzo. Meanwhile, in the United States, the story was reimagined as Ugly Betty, featuring America Ferrera.
Now, the sequel aims to explore what happens after “happily ever after.” “Set more than 20 years later, it follows Betty — now a successful professional and mother — as she secretly rekindles her relationship with Armando after their public divorce,” reads the show’s synopsis.
Ana Maria Orozco returns to her iconic role as Beatrice “Betty” Pinzon Solano, while Jorge Enrique Abello reprises his role as Armando Mendoza, her ex-husband and former great love.
The series also sees the return of other familiar faces from the original Ecomoda office. Among them are Marcela Valencia, Armando’s former fiancée, and her stylish confidante Patricia Fernandez, portrayed once again by Lorna Cepeda.
Bringing his signature flair back to the screen is Hugo Lombardi, the flamboyant designer played by Julian Arango, whose dramatic personality is sure to stir things up once more.
“Betty La Fea 2” will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 15, offering fans a nostalgic yet fresh continuation of a timeless classic.
