Miss Grand PH 2025 Postponed! Find Out the Reason Behind the Date Change

Miss Grand PH 2025 Moved to August 24—Here’s What You Need to Know Now

MISS GRAND PH 2025 – With devastating typhoons sweeping across Luzon, organizers of Miss Grand PH 2025 made a surprising but emotional decision to postpone the finals.

The Miss Grand International Philippines 2025 coronation night has been moved from its initial August 12 schedule to August 24, following the impact of multiple typhoons that recently struck the country. Despite the date change, the venue remains the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The announcement was made via the pageant’s official social media channels. The national pageant said on social media that the “difficult but necessary decision” was made “[i]n light of the recent calamities that have deeply affected many of our fellow Filipinos—and with more typhoons expected in the coming weeks.”

The organizers underscored the importance of compassion and community during such challenging times. “Like many other major events, we believe it is not appropriate to continue with celebrations while many are still recovering. Out of respect, empathy, and concern for the safety and well-being of our communities, we are rescheduling our Grand Finals,” continued the Miss Grand International Philippines pageant.

This is not the first disruption caused by the weather. Earlier, the swimsuit competition—which was slated for July 26 in Alaminos, Pangasinan—was also postponed due to similar concerns.

The country recently endured three major weather events—Tropical Storm Emong and Typhoons Crising and Dante—which caused widespread damage in Luzon and claimed at least 26 lives.

Nevertheless, anticipation for the pageant remains high as Christine Juliane “CJ” Opiaza, the first Filipino recipient of the Miss Grand International “golden crown,” prepares to pass on the title to one of the 29 hopeful candidates.

Among the contenders are experienced beauty queens like Emma Mary Tiglao, Shanon Tampon, Michelle Arceo, and Francesca Beatriz Abalajon McLelland, along with former national titleholders such as Nikki Chevez, Anita Rose Gomez, and Angeleyh Pasco.

Apart from the Miss Grand Philippines crown, the event will also determine the country’s representative to Miss Asia Pacific International 2025, with reigning international queens Dia Mate and Jeanne Isabelle Bilasano set to crown their successors.
