Joshua Garcia talked about one of the iconic scenes in ‘It’s Okay To Not Be Okay’
Kapamilya actor Joshua Garcia shared how he did the iconic “abs” scene in the series It’s Okay To Not Be Okay.
Joshua has done various projects at this point in his career that have proven his acting caliber. He was chosen to portray the lead male character in the Filipino adaptation of the hit Korean series,
In the series, he portrayed the character of Patrick, who is the Filipino version of Moon Gang-tae, the character played by Kim Soo-Hyun.

In an interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN, Joshua Garcia was asked how he did the abs scene. The actor said that he really prepared for it. “Ah, maraming push ups. Kasi wala talaga akong abs non eh. Isa lang, absent,” Joshua shared.
The actor also said that there was more than just the “kilig” that the viewers may feel; there is more to the scene. Thankfully, his preparation worked.
Director Mae Cruz-Alviar agreed with this and stressed that the abs scene is more than just a fan service. “Iba naman yung yung point ng scene, it’s not just the abs so parang kumbaga, it’s not all about the abs,” she said.
Then, the director pointed out that the actor in the original series surely had a process in order to achieve that form for that particular scene.

“Parang ang feeling ko kasi yung abs ni KSG (Kim Soo-hyun) ay taon. So parang, taon yung kanya para magkaroon siya ng ganon,” Direk Mae said.
Then, Joshua said that the scene established the tension and connection between his and Anen Curtis’s character, at the early stage of their interactions.
Joshua Garcia also shared that he just did the scene even though he did not have that “six-pack abs.” “Basta ginawa ko na lang yung scene kahit na um-absent yung lima kong abs. May isang namang pumasok. So tumagilid na lang (Sabi ko) ‘Saan yung camera, Direk?’ Tapos yon tinigasan ko na lang yung sa set. Ayun, naitawid naman. Ayon yung aabangan,” the actor said.
In a previous interview, Joshua also talked about his intimate scenes with Anne. He admitted that he felt nervous doing these scenes.
