Lucena City Mayor Mark Alcala shared a post in 2023 joking about the breakup between Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo and Supreme Idol Daniel Padilla, known as the KathNiel tandem.
It has been months since the rumor linking Mark and Kathryn started circulating online. Speculations started that the politician started courting the actress, while some people believed that they were already a couple.

A netizen even claimed that the woman behind Kathryn at the airport was Mark’s cousin, who happened to be the actress’s make-up artist.

Just recently, a Reddit post shared a screenshot of Mark’s post on December 7, 2023. This was shared by @lurkersagilid on ChikaPH. The post featured Mark with other people at an event, which apparently was a wedding. “Naghiwalay man ang Kathniel, may forever naman kay Rafael and Jhozen. Congratulations and best wishes!” the Lucena City Mayor wrote in the caption of his post.
