Emil Sumangil thanked people who messaged him
Kapuso journalist Emil Sumangil said that he is very much alive amid worried messages he received because of her absence from his shows.
To recall, Emil interviewed Julie “Dondon” Patidongan or Alias Totoy, the supposed “whistleblower” in the “missing sabungeros” case. During the interview, Patidongan named businessman Atong Ang as the alleged mastermind.
The “whistleblower” also mentioned the name of former actress Gretchen Barretto, who was allegedly involved in this.

Many people expressed admiration for Emil Sumangil for having the courage to share Alias Totoy’s story regarding a controversial case that allegedly involved famous and powerful personalities.
On July 4, Emil’s wife asked the public to pray for the journalist’s safety. In recent days, people noticed that Emil had not appeared in his shows. This made some people worry.
On Saturday, based on the article in Bandera, GMA released Emil’s video saying thank you to all the people who sent messages to him, as well as his workmates in his Kapuso programs. Emil received messages of concern and they asked why he was in several programs.

The journalist revealed that he was on vacation. “Ako’y nagbakasyon lamang at kabaligtaran sa mga ilang naglabasan sa social media, ako po ay buhay na buhay. Pero ang mensahe na ito ay para sa inyo,” he said. He is thankful for the messages expressing worry for his safety but he pointed out that he is okay.
“Nasa ligtas po ako na kalagayan, sa awa at sa kalooban ng mahal na Diyos Ama,” the journalist said, adding that he will do his best for his fellow Filipinos, as long as it is morally right.
Meanwhile, authorities found a suspicious object during their search in Taal Lake since Alias Totoy claimed that this area became the dumpsite for missing sabungeros.
