The Kapamilya actor visited Learning Tree, the school he attended before moving to Laguna, and surprised everyone—not just with his presence, but with a heartfelt tribute that brought many to tears.
“This school is very close to my heart because I basically grew up here,” Donny shared in his newly released 33-minute vlog, which quickly gained attention online.
At the beginning of the video, Donny explained his connection to Learning Tree:
“Okay, so backstory, for those who don’t know. Before Brent and moving to Laguna, I used to study in this small school called Learning Tree. It’s a small Christian school where me and my siblings went, it’s also the school where some of my cousins went.”
As he walked through the halls of the school, Donny reflected on how much the institution had influenced his life and values. “This school is very very close to my heart because I basically grew up here. As a young boy, there were a lot of values that they taught me.” He added, “Looking back sa childhood ko, siguro wala talagang Donny ngayon kung walang Learning Tree.”
His return was filled with warmth as he greeted his former teachers, staff members, and current students. But the most unforgettable moment came when Donny unveiled a surprise gift for the school.
In the latter part of the video, he held up a large sintra board and made an emotional announcement:
“On behalf of Donato, I would like to offer this to The Learning Tree and you can use this however you please cause I trust that your judgment is right so I will be giving you a cheque of 1 million pesos.”
