Erwin Tulfo clarified his photo with a witness of the “missing sabungeros” case
Senator Erwin Tulfo reacted to the allegations connecting him to a witness of the “missing sabungeros” case, as they were seen in a photo together.
These past few days, the said case became a trending topic online and in mainstream media. Whistleblowers alleged that the “missing sabungeros” were buried dead in Taal Lake.
Julie Dondon Patidongan, or Alias Totoy, one of the whistleblowers, also claimed that businessman Atong Ang was the mastermind behind the “missing sabungeros” and, allegedly, former actress Gretchen Barretto was part of this.

Both Atong and Gretchen denied the allegations against them. The businessman even filed a case against Alias Totoy for allegedly extorting money from him.
Another name surfaced that is being connected to this issue. Based on the article in Abante, Sen. Erwin Tulfo was entangled in the issue because of his photo with one of the witnesses.
In his statement, the politician clarified that he has no connection to the witness. He stressed that he does not âAlias Brownâ or Alan Bantiles personally.
The photo was originally released by politiko.com.ph. It can be seen that Alias Brown was sitting beside businessman Art Atayde, the father of actor-politician Arjo Atayde, and Tulfo was standing behind them.
Tulfo explained that as a politician, he could not refuse people’s requests. âKapag public figureâexcept suplado kaâpuwede mo ba tanggihan? Malay mo kung ang nagpa-picture saâyo kriminal pala, magnanakaw? How would you know?” the politician said.

However, Tulfo could not explain why he was there at the private event. Then, he said that sometimes he would think that he just follows what celebrities would do, but since people voted for him.
Erwin Tulfo asked where and when the photo was taken because there were a lot of people who would ask for a photo with him. “Saan nga lumabas âyan? Hindi ko alam. Ang daming taong nagpa-picture sa akin. What is the solution? Gusto kong tanungin sa media outlet, magtaray ako o magsuplado? Hindi ko naman ugali âyun,â he said.
The politician also stressed that he has no plan to file a complaint against the media entity that released the photo.
