Jennylyn Mercado was also a victim of a fake advertisement
Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado was used in a fake advertisement, and her management released a warning about this.
The popularity of certain celebrities is among the biggest factors why brands and companies are trusting them. It is part of their market value, and this could also mean that a lot of people or fans believe in them.
However, some celebrities are being used in scams and untrustworthy products. One of the recent victims was Jennylyn.

Based on the article in GMA Entertainment, Aguila Entertainment, the talent management company handling Jennylyn Mercado’s career, warned the public against a fake advertisement using the Kapuso star’s identity.
Aguila Entertainment stressed that the actress is not endorsing or affiliated in any way with the online gambling platform called “PH Sugar.” It also said that Jennylyn’s photo and video are being used illegally in its Facebook ads to encourage unknowing users to download the application.
“We remind the public to be vigilant and verify the legitimacy of any online gaming platform,” Aguila Entertainment added.
Meanwhile, aside from Jennylyn Mercado, Kapuso comedian Michael V was also victimized by a deep fake video.

He said that artificial intelligence, or AI, was used to replace his mouth movements. Michael said that people behind this studied how his lips move every time he talks, and used this to lip-sync the mouth animation.
“Ang Artificial Intelligence (A.I.), masyado nang tumatalino. Dapat matuto tayong maging mapanuri kung ang pinapanood o binabasa ay fake o totoo. Please REPORT and share,” the Kapuso comedian said.
Even Broadway diva Lea Salonga became a victim of a fake video when her aunt told her image was used to promote a health product she knew nothing about.
Previously, Kapamilya actress-host Anne Curtis’s identity was also used in a fake video, and Viva, her management, immediately warned the public about this.
