Sunshine Cruz encouraged the public to identify fake news
Actress Sunshine Cruz slammed these social media posts about her and her boyfriend wealthy businessman Atong Ang.
Sunshine has been very private about her new love life. To recall, the actress was open about her past relationship with Macky Mathay. She would post about them on social media, but she chose not to talk much about their breakup.
When rumors surfaced linking Sunshine to Atong, the actress maintained her silence. However, their kissing photos and videos circulated online. They also attended a wedding together as ninong and ninang, and there were several sightings of them. The actress even shared a photo of them on her Instagram Story. For netizens, this was a soft launch.
Just recently, it was apparently Sunshine Cruz’s first time to post about Atong Ang. However, this was about fake news.
The actress shared screenshots of Facebook posts featuring her and Atong with made-up stories. Sunshine added “Fake News” on top of these screenshots.
“Sharing misinformation is not advisable, especially if the news comes from a questionable site. Be vigilant family and friends,” the actress wrote in the caption of her post. Sunshine also added tips on how to identify fake news and what to do about this.
In the comment section of Sunshine’s post, many netizens also slammed the fake news, as they also condemned social media sites that were spreading misinformation. “Its all about the money for the sake of views gagawin ang lahat mas madami ang fake news kesa tunay only in the Philippines sad,” a netizen commented.
Meanwhile, Sunshine Cruz’s ex-husband Cesar Montano had nothing but good words about the actress’s relationship with Atong Ang. Cesar said that he is happy for Sunshine because, since she is happy, it means that their daughters are also happy.
