Jimmy Santos clarified this assumption about him
Showbiz personality Jimmy Santos denied that he was struggling financially after his vendor and construction work videos caught netizens’ attention.
Jimmy’s showbiz career started in the 1980s. This was after he spent years as a basketball player. He became one of the hosts of the longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga, for many years.
His career as a comedian was also boosted by the movies he made, like Bondying: The Little Big Boy.

In recent years, Jimmy Santos became inactive in the entertainment industry. He caught the attention of the online community when he shared in his vlogs his side jobs after losing his job during the pandemic.
He was selling meat at a market. Veteran TV host Willie Revillam responded to this vlog that Jimmy shared. Then, there was a time when Jimmy worked at a construction site. However, based on the article in the Inquirer, during Jimmy’s recent appearance on Kasolid Vlogs, he denied that he is facing financial problems.
He stressed that what he did was for his vlog content. “Yung mga nagsasabing gano’n [naghihirap], hindi naman po, content lang po ‘yon,” he said.
The comedian also stressed that what he was doing in his vlogs was just to highlight the real, honest, and decent jobs of his fellow Filipinos that could provide for their financial needs.

“Pinakikita ko lang ‘yung iba’t-ibang ginagalawang hanapbuhay ng ating mga kababayan para sa gano’n, makita rin naman nila na ang kanilang ginagawa ay talagang kumikita sila sa pamamagitan ng kanilang mga pawis; talagang pinagpapaguran nila,” the comedian explained.
For a while, Jimmy Santos stayed in Canada. Back when he was there in 2023, he shared a video of himself recycling cans and plastic bottles. He recently returned to the Philippines and is currently living in Pampanga.
