Coco Martin hints at what happened to ‘Batang Quiapo’
Kapamilya actor Coco Martin is set to start the political era of his character Tanggol in the action-drama series Batang Quiapo.
Coco has been reigning the primetime spot for many years with his action-drama series, from Ang Probinsyano until now with BQ, but for the pilot episode of its rival Kapuso series Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre, Coco’s series was defeated.
In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Coco hinted at what the avid viewers of BQ could expect in the upcoming episodes.

Coco Martin said that viewers can expect non-stop action and shocking twists. His character Tanggol, goes to war against the Guerrero family, a powerful clan. He also teased that some characters will bid goodbye, but he did not elaborate on this.
“Wala nang hingaan. Pinaghandaan namin ‘to at lahat ng eksena pinaghihirapan at pinag-iisipan. Ilang araw na namin shinu-shoot. Dire-diretso na lahat ng revelation at maraming character na dahan-dahan nang nawawala,” Coco, who is also the director, shared,

A teaser was shown in which Tanggol was fighting alone against multiple goons. One of the upcoming events in the life of Tanggol is the start of his political era. Coco’s character started campaigning to become Manila Mayor.
Meanwhile, aside from his successful career, Coco Martin also found success in his love life. In recent years, Coco has been more vocal about his relationship with actress Julia Montes. They had been together for many years, but they weren’t very open about their relationship.
Coco and Julia, fondly called the CocoJul tandem, are gearing up for ABS-CBN’s first meet-and-greet event in Africa for “Kapamilya Live in Kenya.” This is set to happen on June 28.
