Ricky was one of the icons in the Philippine entertainment industry. Aside from being a versatile actor, he was also respected by his colleagues as a director. In his entire career, he has done various projects in different genres.

When Ricky’s death was confirmed by his family on May 2, the entertainment industry mourned losing a superb actor like him. He died on May 1 due to complications related to cancer.

Before his death, Ricky Davao did a project. It was the Kapuso fantasy series Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre. Based on the article in Inquirer, a grand media conference was held on Sunday, June 8 for this new series.

In the trailer, it was revealed that Ricky played the character Governor Emil Salvador. Most of the late actor’s scenes showed that he was having angry outbursts. Then, there was a portion when he mentioned the word “Sang’gre” in a mocking tone.

There was also a scene showing him campaigning for gubernatorial re-election and he said, “Wag niyo pong kakalimutan, Emil Salvador, ang inyong lingkod. Isasalba ko kayong lahat.”

After the trailer, the cast members were introduced. Then, host Anjo Pertierra asked for a moment of silence in remembrance of the legacy that Ricky Davao left in the entertainment industry.

Meanwhile, it was previously confirmed that First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos extended financial assistance to the family of the late actor. The wife of President Bongbong Marcos has been showing support to the entertainment industry through different projects like film restoration efforts.
