Alynna Velasquez Turned Down Hajji Alejandro’s Marriage Proposal
ALYNNA VELASQUEZ – Singer Alynna Velasquez revealed that she declined a marriage proposal from OPM legend Hajji Alejandro years before his passing.
Alynna Velasquez recently shared an emotional revelation about her late longtime partner, OPM legend Hajji Alejandro. More than a month after Hajji’s passing, Alynna disclosed that he had proposed to her years ago. However, she made the difficult decision to decline the offer, choosing instead to prioritize the well-being of Hajji’s children.
In an interview following her performance at Viva Café in Araneta City, Alynna recounted the moment. “Sabi ng iba bakit hindi raw ako nag demand ng kasal. He proposed to me years ago. Sabi niya magpakasal daw kami. Pero sabi ko huwag na lang baka magkaroon ng complication sa mga anak niya. So sabi ko huwag na lang,” she said.
Alynna Velasquez admitted feeling a sense of regret over her decision, but she stood firm that she made it out of respect for Hajji and his family. “Sayang talaga. There was a chance but I decided (not to accept it) for his family. Hindi ko naman alam na mangyayari sa kanya ito,” she added, expressing sorrow over the unexpected turn of events.
Despite the pain, Alynna expressed her gratitude toward Hajji’s children, especially Rachel and Ali Alejandro, for reaching out to her after their father’s death. “Nag-thank you ako sa kanila,” she shared, her voice full of emotion.
That night, while performing, Alynna admitted struggling to hold back her emotions. Memories of her time with Hajji came rushing back, making it difficult to stay composed on stage.
In a separate interview with Morly Alinio, Alynna clarified that she never demanded marriage and had no intention of claiming any part of Hajji’s wealth. She emphasized that there was nothing for anyone to fear, especially from someone she chose not to name.
Today, Alynna continues to hope for reconciliation and forgiveness between her and Hajji’s family, trusting that in time, healing will come for all of them.
