Inside Chito Miranda’s Gentle Yet Firm Parenting Style
CHITO MIRANDA – Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda proves that discipline doesn’t need to be harsh as he shares his calm yet firm approach to parenting his two sons.
Chito Miranda recently gave fans a heartfelt glimpse into his parenting style through an Instagram post about his two sons, Miggy and Cash. Sharing an adorable photo of the boys, Chito opened up about the sibling dynamics at home and how he disciplines his children with love and understanding.
“My boys,” Chito began, describing how Miggy and Cash interact. While acknowledging that “Yes, they sometimes fight…pero di palagi,” he emphasized the patience and kindness Miggy shows towards his younger brother.

“Sobrang patient ni Kuya Miggy kay Cash,” Chito wrote, highlighting that despite the occasional disagreements, Miggy “never NEVER sinasaktan si Cash.” In fact, Chito shared that sometimes Miggy even ends up crying because he can’t retaliate when Cash provokes him, but “they always find a way to patch things up, fairly.”
Chito also revealed how he handles discipline with his sons, emphasizing fairness and clear communication. “And yes, they do get punished if they do something na alam nilang mali (syempre after explaining what they are being punished for), and tanggap naman nila yung punishment,” he said. To illustrate, he mentioned how Cash was once asked to “sit and face the wall for 5mins…may timer pa eh.” This shows the rock star’s approach of enforcing consequences calmly but firmly, without resorting to physical punishment.

“Kasi mas gets nila when I talk to them calmly (but firmly) whenever they do something wrong,” Chito explained, making it clear that spanking is not part of their parenting style.
In sharing these insights, Chito was careful to add a humble disclaimer: “di ko sinasabi na our way is the best. I’m just sharing how I am with my kids (alam mo naman sa Soc Med) masaya lang ako na nagmamahalan sila.” His post reflects a parenting approach rooted in patience, fairness, and open communication—values he clearly cherishes in raising his boys with love.
