Red Sternberg passed away
Former actor Red Sternberg who was known as a cast member of the 90s youth-oriented show TGIS died at the age of 50.
The show also featured his fellow 90s stars Angelu de Leon, Bobby Andrews, Onemig Bondoc, Rica Peralejo, Michael Flores, Ciara Sotto, Bernadette Allyson, and Raven Villanueva. TGIS aired in 1995 until 1999.
Red is one of the popular stars during the 1990s. He did several acting projects on TV and in movies. As a contact star of Viva Films, he did several films under the production company.
When he became inactive in showbiz, he lived a private life in the US with his family.
Just recently, Red Sternberg’s wife wife Sandy confirmed the former actor’s death. Based on the article in PEP, director Mark Reyes shared a post on May 30 that Red passed away. This date is supposed to be Red’s 51st birthday.
Sadly, he was not able to reach this date because he passed away on May 27. “The entire T.G.I.S Barkada is heartbroken to lose one of our own. We just confirmed with Red’s wife Sandy Sternberg of his passing a few days ago,” Direk Mark said.
The director also shared that Sandy is asking the public to give them the privacy they need amid this difficult time in their lives. Then, Direk Mark shared this message with “Kiko,” Red’s character in the 90s show.
“Kiko we love you and we’re giving you a group hug right now,” the director said. Direk Mark included in his post the message from Sandy confirming Red’s death.
Sandy said that she had a hard time finding the right words to say because it has been a very difficult time in her life. She shared that the month of May is their month.
“To be greeted ‘happy birthday’ and ‘sorry for your loss’ at the same time three consecutive days of what was supposed to be a celebration full of birthdays. May was our month! 5th, 28th, 29th and 30th. My husband suddenly passed away the morning of Tuesday, May 27th,” Sandy shared.
She also shared that memorial arrangements will be shared soon. On the other hand, she did not reveal Red Sternberg’s cause of death.
