Lolit Solis shared her thoughts on the recently concluded 2025 elections
Veteran entertainment writer Lolit Solis expressed dismay that her “alaga” senatorial candidate Bong Revilla did not win.
The actor-politician was one of the reelectionists in the 2025 elections. Unfortunately, he was not able to enter the Magic 12 even though his standings in surveys before the elections were quite good.
After the winners in the senatorial race were proclaimed, Revilla called for unity even though he received an unexpected defeat. This election loss also dismayed Lolit.

Without mentioning any name, Lolit said that if a certain popular personality won, the whole country would regret it. When asked what could be the factor that people’s perception of celebrities in politics changed last elections, she mentioned that the younger generation took part in the elections.
āParang, di ba, yung mga bagets ang ano niyan, e. Mga talagangā¦ at mabuti naman, talagang naging active sila, bumoto talaga sila. Ipinakita nila yung strength nila, di ba? Dahil kung minsan, puro talk, wala namang gawa,” Lolit said.
For her, the young voters really showed that they could and that politicians should work hard to show that they are worthy to receive a vote.
Lolit Solis also said that those celebrities who ran for a local position and won might have established credibility and created a rapport with their constituents who saw what they have done.
Meanwhile, in a social media post, Bong Revilla’s wife Lani Mercado showed appreciation to Manay Lolit for the love she has been extending to the actor-politician. Being a talent manager, Lolit also plays as a mother to her talents.
