Filipino-Austrian JJ Crowned Eurovision 2025 Champion

EUROVISION 2025 – Filipino-Austrian sensation JJ took center stage at Eurovision 2025, stunning Europe with his genre-blending performance and securing a historic win.

JJ has made waves by winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with his groundbreaking opera-techno piece, Wasted Love. The event’s finale took place in Basel, Switzerland, where JJ secured Austria’s first win since Conchita Wurst’s celebrated triumph in 2014.

Performing under his stage name, JJ—real name Johannes Pietsch—impressed both juries and viewers with his exceptional countertenor voice. His performance merged the elegance of classical opera with the intensity of techno rhythms. Wasted Love, which reflects the emotional turmoil of one-sided love, begins as a soft, melodic ballad and builds into a dramatic techno finale. Visually, the act stood out thanks to its artistic black-and-white presentation in a retro 4:3 screen format.
