Dia Mate talked about her recent endeavors
Reina Hispanoamericana 2025 Dia Mate revealed that she has dual roles in real life now, being a beauty queen and pop star.
Before becoming the Reina who represented the Philippines in the international beauty pageant, Dia already had stints in the music scene. She first joined the Miss Universe Philippines pageant and crossed over to Binibining Pilipinas.
Dia is the second Pinay who won the Reina Hispanoamericana crown. The first one was Kapuso star Winwyn Marquez in 2017.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Dia Mate expressed that she is happy being an international pageant title holder. Despite being a beauty queen, she is still able to do her other passion – her music.
At the day, she is the Reina while at night, she is a pop star. “So the journey as Reina has been amazing. I love having this title. My responsibility as Reina is to promote Hispanic culture –not just in the Philippines but around the world,” she shared.
The beauty queen also shared that part of his plan as the reigning Reina Hispanoamericana is to go to other Asian countries to promote the Hispanic culture. Another goal she has right now is to learn the Spanish language.
“So when I go back, I’ll be more fluent in talking to them…and really getting into it and being semi-fluent or kind of fluent when I get there,” Dia shared. When asked if she aspires to join other pageants like Miss World and Miss Universe, she said that for now, she has no plan yet.
Dia said that she is just 24 years old and she is not pressuring herself to join another pageant. Talking about how she balances her time as a beauty queen and a pop star, Dia said that it’s all about time management. “I like to tell people I’m playing Hannah Montana. Parang beauty queen ako by day tapos pop star by night, ‘yung ganun. So it’s really about scheduling properly,”
Dia Mate enthused. She has a new single titled INA. It is a collaboration with Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez. Dia shared that this is a dedication to The Golden Gays.
