Isko Moreno Endorses Senate Bets Pacquiao &Tolentino

Isko Throws His Support Behind Pacquiao, Tolentino

ISKO MORENO – Manila mayoral candidate Isko Moreno endorses Pacquiao and Tolentino for the Senate race.

Manila mayoral hopeful Isko Moreno highlighted his inclusive political stance over the weekend by voicing support for Senate candidates backed by the administration, despite ongoing political rivalries. During a campaign event held Saturday at the Baseco Compound in Port Area, Moreno announced his endorsement of reelectionist Senator Francis Tolentino and former Senator Manny Pacquiao, both part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas.

Vice President Sara Duterte was also present at the rally to advocate for her endorsed group known as the “Duter10” slate. Although tensions remain between Duterte and Marcos, her appearance alongside Moreno’s allies marked an uncommon instance of cooperation between differing political camps.

Following the event, Moreno shared on Facebook that Manila’s campaign stage is open to all, regardless of political affiliation. “Whatever your political colors are, whether you belong to the administration, opposition or independent, you are welcome here,” he said.

According to the report, during the rally, Moreno raised the hands of candidates affiliated with the Alyansa coalition, affirming his public support. However, both Pacquiao and Tolentino had exited the venue before Duterte’s arrival.

Moreno’s public endorsements reflect his broader strategy to bridge political gaps as he seeks to reclaim the mayoralty. His actions highlight the increasingly flexible alliances defining the upcoming midterm elections, where politicians often transcend traditional party loyalties.

Duterte’s participation, despite her strained relationship with the president, was also interpreted as a move to bolster her preferred Senate lineup. Her influence remains strong nationwide, particularly among supporters of her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.

As the midterm elections approach, the Baseco rally provided a snapshot of the evolving political landscape, with Moreno presenting himself as a unifying figure open to working with candidates across the spectrum.
