Angelika Dela Cruz is in a legal battle
A resident of Brgy. Longos, Malabon City filed complaints against actress-turned-actress Angelika Dela Cruz.
Angelika is one of the most popular actresses of her generation. During the height of her career, she has done many teleseryes and movies. She was a popular teen actress and eventually evolved into a drama actress.
In recent years, Angelika has become inactive in the entertainment industry. She is one of the celebrities who crossed over to the political arena. The last TV series that she did was the Kapuso teleserye Inagaw na Bituin in 2019 which featured Sparkle artist Kyline Alcantara and Therese Malvar.

Currently, Angelika Dela Cruz is serving as the Barangay Captain of Brgy. Longos in Malabon City. Based on the article in Abante, the actress-politician received several complaints filed by resident Arman Ramos.
Angelika is accused of using personally the budget of the barangay worth P70 million. Because of this, a plunder case was filed against her.
Anti-corruptions lawyer Atty. Gabriel Ablola said that they also filed 62 counts of malversation of public funds, 18 counts of failure to render accounts, illegal use of public funds, and 64 counts of violation of the Anti-graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

She was also accused of not doing her responsibility as a public servant because of frequent absences without official leave and she would let her brother Kagawad Erick Dela Cruz act in behalf of her without proper authorization.
Aside from Angelika Dela Cruz, a case was also filed against barangay treasurer Earnest Dela Cruz for failing to render accounts and illegal use of public funds. Her brother is also facing a grave misconduct complaint.
