Imee Marcos had this statement about the movie by Darryl Yap
Senator Imee Marcos, the producer of the Maid In Malacañang trilogy, directed by Darryl Yap, said that the third installment is “malabo.”
The first movie in the trilogy was released in 2022 which became controversial from the time it was being shot until it was released nationwide and in some other countries. This movie talked about the lives of the Marcoses before, during, and after Martial Law.
Aside from being the trilogy’s producer, Sen. Imee also became a resource person as she told the story from their perspective.
The second installment titled Martyr or Murderer was released in 2023. It was expected that somehow the third installment, Mabuhay Aloha Mabuhay, would be released last year. However, there was no news about this, if the production was taking place.
Rumor has it that the third installment will be a series. There was no confirmation from Direk Darryl Yap regarding this speculation.
Based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon, Sen. Imee Marcos, who is close to Direk Darryl, mentioned that the director really pushed through with what he wanted regarding the Pepsi Paloma movie.
The controversial filmmaker is now facing cyber libel cases filed by veteran comedian-host Vic Sotto. Since Direk Darryl is directing the trilogy about the Marcoses, Sen. Imee revealed that the third installment is still uncertain.
“Sabi ni Sen. Imee ay malabo na ang third installment nito dahil hindi na aniya alam kung paano tatapusin,” the Senator said about Maid in Malacañang.
Meanwhile, in the same interview, Sen. Imee Marcos admitted that she and her brother President Bongbong Marcos haven’t talked to each other for quite a while now. The Senator filed her certificate of candidacy for reelection other her brother’s party. However, she was not at the rally in Cavite, just recently. During the political event, the President did not mention his older sister.
