Palace denied this rumor about FL Liza Marcos
Allegations surfaced that First Lady Liza Marcos was detained in Los Angeles in the United States of America.
FL Liza had a working visit to the US and she participated in the Meeting of the Minds and the Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) from March 5 to 8, 2025. She is helping in the promotion of Filipino movies on the global stage.
The First Lady received messages of gratitude for her effort to support the Philippine film industry. Actress Barbie Imperial even shared her thank you message to FL Liza for the invitation she received to be part of that event.

While FL Liza Marcos was in the US, rumors surfaced on social media that she was detained. Accusations circulated that she was in the same hotel where Paolo Tantoco of Rustan’s died. Allegedly, the First Lady somehow had an involvement in this.
On March 13, the Malacañang Palace released a statement debunking the allegation against the First Lady, based on the article in ABS-CBN.
Presidential Communications Office (PCO) stressed, “There is no truth that [the First Lady] was held by any law enforcers while in Los Angeles or and in any other place.”
Based on what Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said, FL Liza arrived in the Philippines early Monday morning.
In a post shared on the First Lady’s official Facebook page on March 11, it showed the turnover of the donation to the Girl Scout of the Philippines at her office in Manila.
Meanwhile, in December last year, First Lady Liza Marcos caught the attention of the online community when she attended the VIP screening of the movie Hello, Love, Again featuring the tandem of Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards and Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo. She was photographed getting emotional while watching and after the screening, she shared her thoughts on the movie.
