Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte Arrested, Brought to The Netherlands

RODRIGO DUTERTE – The former President said that his arrest may lead to the presidency of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

While many Filipinos including the families of the alleged victims of the war on drugs of the Duterte administration, there are also a lot of people who cried foul over the arrest of former Pres. Duterte. He was in the custody of the authorities for several hours yesterday following his arrest at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Duterte was arrested by the members of the Interpol and the Philippine National Police (PNP) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). He arrived from Hong Kong where he graced a Thanksgiving event of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC).

The arrest of the former President was over the alleged warrant of arrest released by the International Criminal Court or ICC. He is being accused of crimes against humanity due to his administration’s war on drugs.

The former President in the custody of the authorities for several hours. His common-law wife, Honeylet Avanceña, and their daughter, Kitty Duterte, were also by his side. Their daughter would even post updates from time to time.

In one of the videos posted by Kitty Duterte on her Instagram account on Tuesday, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte could be heard saying that his arrest may lead Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to become president.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte said that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte can be president tomorrow or win the presidency someday and win because of what was done to him now.

“Unang-una, I don’t know, but my family, lalo na si Vice President, if bukas mag-presidente yan, eh di waswas tayong lahat dito or on a longer term, kung tatakbo yan, mananalo yan dahil nga sa ginawa niyo tuloy,” Duterte said.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte flew for The Netherlands where her father was set to be brought to face the charges against him at The Hague. She previously stressed her claim that the Philippine government allegedly insulted the Filipinos and went past the sovereignty of the country with its move.
