Rumor has it that senatorial aspirant Willie Revillame will give away hundreds of thousands of jackets during campaign events.
The Wowowin host is just one of the many showbiz personalities who decided to join the political arena for the midterm elections. During the last day of the filing of the certificate of candidacy, Willie surprised the public when he formally joined the list of senatorial candidates.
This came after a series of push and pull when it came to his decision whether to run for senator or remain in his show on TV5. His decision garnered polarizing comments online.
Although he has a lot of supporters, especially the avid viewers of his game show, Willie Revillame also received negative comments on social media. The bashing even hyped up when he said that since he is not yet an elected senator, he has no initial platform. He was heavily criticized for not stating a “plan” for the country and the Filipino people.
As the campaign period is just around the corner, politicians are starting to be more visible and political events have been organized here and there.
In a recent episode of veteran showbiz insider Cristy Fermin’s show, she mentioned Willie’s alleged plan for the campaign period. Based on the article in Balita, the veteran TV host will give away jackets.
It has been Willie’s signature gesture to give jackets to his studio audience. He was known for saying the line “Bigyan ng jacket ‘yan!”
“Si Sir Willie nagpagawa ng maraming-maraming jacket. Siyempre, hindi lang ito Pilipinas. Buong mundo basta may Pilipino, may jacket ka dyan,” Cristy’s co-host Romel Chika said.
With this, the veteran showbiz writer said, “Totoo naman ‘yan. Binibigyan niya talaga, ano. Kahit naman sa programa niya, puro-jacket-puro-jacket.”
