Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal remained friends throughout the years
Celebrities Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal talked about their special friendship and their iconic loveteam.
“Batang 90s” will always remember the Marvin-Jolina tandem. Their loveteam was one of the most popular pairings during that era in the Philippine entertainment industry. They have become a big part of many people’s lives and pop culture in the country.
Last year, the Marvin-Jolina had an onscreen reunion for the movie Ex Ex Lovers. In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Marvin and Jolina talked about what was between them during the height of their loveteam.

Unlike many loveteams at that time, Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal did not cross the line of romance. When asked if they officially became a couple, the actor’s answer was neither a confirmation nor denial.
“Para s’yang ano nag-je-jaywalking lang na tumatawid, naging rollercoaster siya,” he said. He added that it was better that this was their situation back then because they saw tandems who became sweethearts but later on, the relationship became sour. For him, it was a blessing for them because they were still able to work with each other.
Jolina said that she enjoys Marvin’s company and they became very good friends. When the actor was asked if Jolina was his TOTGA or “the one that got away,” he did not answer.

The actress said, “Perhaps, ‘the one’ can be referred to as ‘the special friend.’ I think, no, because he never left. He’s still there whenever I need some company.” Marvin agreed with this, saying that one of the best relationships is their friendship. He said that this will always remain.
During the same interview, they were asked to share the fondest memories they had with each other. Jolina recalled that she and Marvin would have petty fights. Those were the times when they would just suddenly stop talking to each other but the actor was just always by her side to accompany her.
“Yung kakulitan ni Jolina, ‘yun ang naalala ko pati ‘yung mga away-bati namin na parang aso’t pusa. Mga bata pa talaga,” Marvin Agustin shared.
