Vicki Belo Reveals Hidden Dangers of At-Home Beauty Devices

VICKI BELO – Dermatologist Vicki Belo has issued a warning about the potential dangers of at-home beauty devices.

Renowned celebrity doctor Vicki Belo has issued a warning against the use of portable beauty gadgets that are widely available for purchase online. These handheld devices, often marketed for skin tightening, discoloration reduction, and facial slimming, have become increasingly popular among beauty enthusiasts. However, Belo cautions that improper use of these gadgets can lead to unintended consequences.

In a video posted on Instagram, Belo addressed the growing curiosity surrounding these at-home beauty tools. “I’m getting a lot of questions from you, my friends, my followers. You are all asking me if these things that you can buy on TikTok or Lazada if they work. I invited a friend. This is Dorothy who likes to buy stuff. So tell me, do those things work?” she said. To provide insight, she invited her friend Dorothy, who has firsthand experience with these products.

Dorothy shared that during the pandemic, she purchased multiple beauty gadgets in an attempt to maintain her skincare routine at home. “I used to go to Belo regularly but then there were no mean of treating myself [during that time] so I started buying online. Sadly, I bought a lot and if you’re not an expert, you can cause damage to your skin,” she admitted.

While some of the devices did show initial results, Dorothy emphasized the risks of using them without professional guidance. She recounted an experience with a $400 device she purchased in the United States. “Yeah, I saw some results. My skin was really nice but then my face got so thin. It got sunken and people were like, ‘What happened to your face?’ I overused it,” she revealed.

Belo also shared her own encounter with a similar device during a dermatology and plastic surgery convention in Paris. She was surprised to find that a company was falsely advertising their product by claiming that she endorsed it. Curious, she decided to test the device herself.

“It has good energy as far as RF (radio frequency) was concerned but the LED light, it gave me melasma because it was just too strong. It took me a while to get rid of it. It’s not controlled, normally, these devices,” Belo explained.

In conclusion, Belo advised against experimenting with these at-home beauty gadgets. “I think the thing is, you go to your dermatologist. You’re worth it. It’s your one and only face. Stop fooling around with it,” she urged. Her message serves as a reminder that professional care remains the safest option for maintaining healthy and radiant skin.
