Darryl Yap Shares ‘MENSAHE NG PASASALAMAT’ After Vic Sotto’s “Win”

Darryl Yap expressed gratitude to all his supporters

Director Darryl Yap shared a post on January 27 featuring his “Mensahe Ng Pasasalamat” after the court ordered him to take down the Pepsi Paloma movie teaser.

Bossing Vic Sotto filed a petition for writ of habeas data because, in the movie teaser, his name was mentioned as he was accused of abusing Pepsi Paloma back in the 80s.

The Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court released a decision in favor of Vic and ordered Darryl to take down the movie teaser on social media platforms.

This “win” was celebrated by Vic’s camp. His wife Pauleen Luna shared a post expressing gratefulness that the court released a decision in favor of her husband. Vic’s lawyer also had the same vibe of being thankful.

The director’s legal counsel stated that they are not appealing the decision. Although Direk Darryl Yap was ordered to take down the teaser, his post after this decision was a message of gratitude.

The director said that it is good news for them that they are allowed to continue with the movie’s showing. Direk Darryl also shared that their next step would be getting the review from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board.

They are willing to follow the process and ask for people’s patience. The director also shared his message for Pinoys abroad who have been anticipating the international showing of the movie.

“Yan po ay sekondarya lamang sa aming isip sa ngayon, sapagkat prayoridad po ang pagpapalabas sa Pilipinas at sa mga kausap nang streaming platform, gayunpaman,” Darryl Yap said.
